iPhone photos use a 4:3 aspect ratio by default, while the poster sizes Prints.app supports are different aspect ratios — so something gets trimmed when scaling up to poster scale.
The app uses WYSIWYG cropping for every size: the visible print region is highlighted and you can adjust the crop before you commit. Useful for keeping faces and key subjects in the frame at large sizes.
